Add Local Drive To Proxmox

cfdisk /dev/sdb

Follow the instructions to use cfdisk to create a partition on /dev/sdb so you get /dev/sdb1. Make sure to write your changes!

mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb1
mkdir /mnt/myseconddisk
ls -lah /dev/disk/by-uuid/

Locate sdb1's UUID and copy it

nano /etc/fstab 

Add an entry similar to.

UUID=yourlonguuidhere /mnt/myseconddisk ext4 defaults 0 0

Write your changes to /etc/fstab and then,

mount -a

Create cluster

1. open ssh on the primary server

2. Create cluster pvecm create YOUR-CLUSTER-NAME

3. Check the cluster status pvecm status


Add server to cluster

1. on the server you want to add open ssh pvecm add IP-ADDRESS-CLUSTER

2. then run pvecm status

3. finally reboot the server.

4. Login to the web interface on the primary server. You should now see the other server added to the list on the left.


Remove a node from a cluster.

Force remove if stuck.

cd /etc/pve/nodes/
rm stuckhostname
